Kids First Law Center

Kids First Law Center gives children a voice in divorce, custody and other conflicts by providing focused legal representation and services for kids. Programs include free and low-cost legal representation for children in high-conflict divorce and custody cases. Lawyers help keep parents, attorneys and judges focused on the child’s needs and concerns while breaking patterns of conflict and makes cases more likely to resolve without a trial. Divorce Workshops for school-age children of divorce in Linn and Johnson counties help kids understand and cope with their parents’ separation and divorce. Joint Parenting Sessions help guides conversations about child-related topics, reducing conflict and improving communication.
