NAMI of Linn County

National Alliance on Mental Illness-Linn County (NAMI-LC) is dedicated to a world whereby mental illness will no longer thwart a person’s fulfillment or potential. The mission is to improve the lives of people and families affected by mental illness through support, education and advocacy. Support groups are provided so people can learn from each other about mental illness. Educational classes hosted by peers help families and individuals whose lives are affected by mental illness to provide information on illnesses, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. NAMI-LC serves Cedar Rapids and areas of Linn County with free services. All persons may attend, volunteer or become a NAMI-LC advocate. Together, this nonprofit will grow the movement of acceptance, support, hope, advocacy and a brighter future for persons with mental illness.
